Pelosi’s journey has not been without personal challenges, including a distressing incident in which her husband, Paul Pelosi, was attacked in their home by an intruder wielding a hammer, who claimed to be seeking the former speaker. This attack occurred as police arrived at the scene and was captured on a body camera. Pelosi had previously indicated that this incident would play a role in her decision regarding retirement.
