Jeff Bezos, the well-known founder of Amazon and one of the world’s richest individuals, is making significant real estate moves near Miami Beach, Florida. After his reported purchase of a $68 million mansion in the area just last summer, Bezos, 59 years old, has now acquired the property next door for a staggering $79 million, according to multiple credible sources.
It seems that Bezos might have grand plans in mind for this prime real estate, with one source speculating, “He must want to have one big bash on Miami Beach.”
The newly acquired property, built in 2000, sits on an expansive two-acre lot and boasts seven bedrooms, along with an array of luxurious amenities including a wine cellar, home theater, swimming pool, and cabana.
This latest acquisition brings Bezos’s total investment in Miami Beach luxury real estate to $147 million, placing him in the company of other high-profile homeowners in the area, such as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Tom Brady, and musician Julio Iglesias.
When reached out to, the realtors involved in this week’s sale, Dina Goldentayer and Danilo Tavares of Douglas Elliman, declined to comment on the transaction.
Jeff Bezos’ latest real estate venture follows a summer filled with leisurely travel. He was often spotted cruising the Mediterranean aboard his megayacht with his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez. The couple celebrated their engagement with a lavish party on Italy’s Amalfi Coast in August, two months after they officially announced their engagement in May. Their relationship became public in January 2019, shortly after Bezos’ announcement of his divorce from his spouse of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott.
