Prince Harry, currently residing in the United States with his family, has received recognition for his significant contributions to conservation efforts in Africa. As part of his commitment to conservation and wildlife protection, Prince Harry has been appointed to the Board of Directors of African Parks.

This announcement comes after Prince Harry served as the president of African Parks for six years, a role he took on in 2017. African Parks, a renowned organization dedicated to preserving national and wildlife parks in Africa, confirmed the Duke of Sussex’s new position in an official statement on their website. In their statement, they describe Prince Harry as a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist.”

Prince Harry has long been involved in conservation work across the African continent, working closely with African Parks to protect and sustain these vital natural areas. His dedication to conservation has been a consistent and passionate endeavor.

The news of Prince Harry’s appointment to the Board of Directors of African Parks coincides with his father, King Charles, and Camilla’s historic visit to Kenya. As King and Queen, they are expected to address challenging aspects of British colonial history during their tour of the African country, with calls for acknowledgment and apologies for past colonial abuses. Prince Harry’s continued commitment to conservation in Africa adds to the royal family’s engagement in global environmental and humanitarian causes.
