The Twisters premiere on Thursday, July 11, in Los Angeles was interrupted by an animal rights protestor before the main screening.

According to People, after the attendees were seated, a female protestor ran up to the front of the venue and started screaming and waving a sign.

“There’s no excuse for animal abuse. The film needs a disclaimer,” she demanded.

However, before the situation could escalate to a further extent, the security immediately tackled the protester and was promptly handcuffed.

While she was being escorted out, the protester chanted, “There’s no excuse for animal abuse. The film needs a disclaimer.”

After the brief disruption, the screening was proceeded by Glen Powell, who handed over the mic to costar Anthony Ramos after the introduction.

“That was a wild intro,” Ramos paused for the laughs before adding, “I had to day it.”

As for the upcoming film, the sequel of the 1996 blockbuster stars Powell as Tyler Owens, a social media personality and self-proclaimed “Tornado Wrangler” who chases storms for thrills.

He then teams up with Javi, played by Ramos, and storm tracker Kate Cooper, portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jones, to test new technology on Oklahoma tornadoes.
