Danielle, a member of the K-pop group New Jeans, has been announced as the official dubbing and singing voice of Ariel in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid”. The announcement was made by Walt Disney Company Korea on May 12th.

According to the company, Danielle’s voice and youthful charm make her the perfect fit to bring to life the teenage girl Ariel, who is described as bubbly and full of curiosity. The K-pop star will also showcase her singing abilities on the film’s original soundtrack, singing the iconic song “Part of Your World”.

Since the debut of her group last year with the hit song “Hype Boy”, Danielle has seen a meteoric rise to fame. Their subsequent comebacks, including “Ditto” and “OMG”, have broken several records and claimed awards both domestically and internationally.

Disney’s live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” will feature Halle Bailey in the lead role of Ariel, with a star-studded cast including Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Awkwafina, and Daveed Diggs. The film is directed by Rob Marshall and is set to release in theaters on May 26, 2023.

With Danielle’s youthful energy and vocal talent, fans of “The Little Mermaid” can look forward to a fresh and exciting take on the beloved classic.
