Kim Kardashian recently got candid about a funny yet frustrating habit of her mom, Kris Jenner. During an appearance on iHeartRadio’s What in the Winkler?! podcast, the 44-year-old reality star shared how her mother’s double standards around snacks can be a bit of a headache—especially when it comes to her four kids.
“This is the one really frustrating thing my mom does,” Kardashian explained. “She’s the most judgmental when it comes to snacks and candy. But her house is like a kid’s paradise, filled with every candy and ice cream you can imagine!”
Kardashian—who co-parents daughters North, 11, and Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm, 5, with her ex-husband Kanye West—recounted a recent example that took place at Kris Jenner’s 69th birthday party. While celebrating at Jenner’s home, Kardashian’s son decided to skip the cake and grab an ice cream from the freezer instead. Jenner’s reaction to the choice surprised her.
“So my son goes to the freezer for ice cream instead of cake, and my mom just watches him and goes, ‘Look at him eating the ice cream,’” Kim shared, adding, “I’m like, ‘You have it here, and you’re judging me?’ It’s like I’m the bad mom for letting them have something from her own kitchen!”
Despite the amusing frustration, it’s clear that Kardashian has a close relationship with her mom and values Jenner’s role in her kids’ lives. A source close to the SKIMS founder recently told People that Kardashian’s life revolves around her four children. The insider also noted that Kim has become “pretty much a single mom,” as West, 47, is frequently “not around.”
While juggling family life and work, Kardashian continues to take it all in stride—even if it means a few laughs at her mom’s snack-related quirks.
