When asked about her decision to go public with their relationship, Gomez explained, “I guess this is the safest I’ve ever felt in one, and I see a future with this person.” She admitted that she is more comfortable sharing glimpses of her relationship, as it helps reduce the intense media scrutiny she usually faces. “When you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down,” she explained, noting that small public details, such as dining out together, help calm public curiosity.
Despite being open about certain aspects of their relationship, Gomez made it clear that she values her privacy. “But there’s so much of my relationship people don’t see, that’s just mine,” she said. The Rare Beauty founder revealed that she maintains a private life by surrounding herself with people who aren’t deeply embedded in the entertainment industry. “I do, because I hang out with people who aren’t really in the business that much. I mean, I have both,” she explained.
