In the Grey, the highly anticipated action thriller starring Henry Cavill, has been delayed with no new release date confirmed. The film, which was initially set to hit theaters on January 17, 2025, has been pulled from the schedule by its distributor, Lionsgate.
According to Collider, the reason for the delay is that the movie is not yet ready for release, though no further details were provided about the new timeline. Directed by Guy Ritchie, In the Grey centers around two extraction specialists who must chart a route for a senior female negotiator to escape a dangerous situation.
Alongside Cavill, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza González, Rosamund Pike, and Fisher Stevens. Fans will now have to wait for a revised release date, with no official word yet on when the movie will be available.
This delay is not the only setback for Cavill this year. His upcoming Highlander reboot, initially slated to begin production in January 2025, has also faced delays, now scheduled to begin in May 2025. The film’s shooting schedule was originally planned from December 2024 to April 2025 but has since been moved back.
While these delays are disappointing for fans, both films are highly anticipated and fans will be eager to see Cavill take on these exciting new roles when they eventually make it to the big screen.
