The iconic British crime drama Peaky Blinders is officially making a comeback, with a seventh season in development and a new feature film, The Immortal Man, set to expand the story beyond its 2022 finale.

As reported by The Sun, the BBC is targeting a 2026 release for the highly anticipated Season 7. This new installment will take fans into the 1950s, an era notorious for the rise of the Teddy Boys and the infamous East London gangsters, the Kray twins.

Cillian Murphy, who is starring in the upcoming movie, is rumored to return as Tommy Shelby. However, this time he may step into a mentor role, guiding a younger generation of criminals—similar to the influential character Polly Gray, played by the late Helen McCrory.

A television insider revealed that although Season 6 and the planned film were meant to conclude the series, creator Steven Knight couldn’t resist returning to his most celebrated work. “Steven has dropped multiple hints about wanting to continue, and now it’s happening,” the source said.

The BBC has reportedly greenlit the new season, with pre-production already underway. Filming is expected to begin in September 2025.

While BBC One will air the series in the UK, international audiences can stream it via Netflix, keeping Peaky Blinders’ global fanbase engaged
