Royal biographer Angela Levin claims that Prince Harry’s late decision to attend King Charles III’s coronation was because he and Meghan Markle were “preoccupied” with where they would be seated. According to Levin, Meghan decided to skip the coronation altogether because the seat that was offered to her was “not good enough” for the Duchess of Sussex.
Levin made the claim during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Wednesday, stating that she had heard from sources close to the royal family that Meghan had declined the invitation to the coronation because she was unhappy with the seating arrangements.
The author also dispelled the notion that Meghan had skipped the coronation due to her son Archie’s birthday, which coincides with the event. Instead, Levin suggested that the seating issue was the primary reason for Meghan’s absence.
The coronation of King Charles III, which is set to take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London, has generated a great deal of speculation about the guest list and the arrangements for the event. More than 2,000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony, including foreign monarchs and dignitaries.
However, the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the event has sparked controversy, with many questioning whether their decision to skip the coronation was a deliberate snub to the royal family.
Some royal watchers have suggested that the couple’s decision to skip the coronation could be linked to their recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they made a number of explosive claims about their time in the royal family.
However, others have suggested that the seating issue could be a genuine concern for Meghan, who has previously been vocal about issues related to equality and representation.
Whatever the reason for their absence, the fact remains that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be attending the coronation of King Charles III, and their absence is sure to be felt by both the royal family and the wider public.
