Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ legal team made a notable request ahead of Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura’s testimony in his ongoing sex trafficking trial, raising eyebrows in the courtroom.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, asked the judge to allow Ventura, who is eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her third child, to be seated before the jury enters the courtroom. Agnifilo’s reasoning was to prevent any “emotional sway” that her pregnancy could evoke among the jury members, according to Daily Mail.

“I believe there’s a quality to her walking in front of the jury that could be avoided due to her physical condition,” Agnifilo told Judge Arun Subramanian. He further explained that while pregnancy is “beautiful and wonderful,” it might also lead to undue sympathy, which could affect the fairness of the trial.

However, prosecutor Maurene Comey rejected the idea, stating, “There is no basis to treat any witness differently due to a medical condition, especially pregnancy. This would be deeply inappropriate.”

Judge Subramanian agreed with the prosecution, telling Combs’ lawyer, “I don’t know of any legal precedent in American law for such a request,” before dismissing it.

Shocking Testimony Reveals Combs’ Past Violent Behavior

This exchange came just as disturbing details about Combs’ behavior were revealed on the first day of his federal sex trafficking trial, which began on May 12. Combs’ own attorneys acknowledged that he had been “horrible, dehumanizing, and violent” toward previous girlfriends, describing his actions as “domestic violence,” according to The New York Times.

Despite these admissions, Combs’ defense attorney Teny Geragos clarified that the charges against him were specifically for sex trafficking and racketeering, not domestic violence.

Cassie Ventura’s Key Testimony in the Case

Ventura, now 38, is expected to testify on May 13, with her testimony being a crucial part of the prosecution’s case. The trial centers on a 2016 hotel video, in which Combs was seen physically assaulting Ventura during their relationship. This footage has become a central piece of evidence in the ongoing trial.

If convicted, Combs faces life in prison. As the trial progresses, all eyes are on the high-profile case, which has garnered widespread attention.
