Prince William and Kate Middleton may be facing fresh challenges amid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s evolving approach to their public image and future plans. Following Prince Harry’s recent, yet unreciprocated, plea for reconciliation with King Charles, the Sussexes appear more determined than ever to assert control over their narrative—raising concerns within the royal family, particularly for the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Royal PR expert Dermot McNamara highlighted the Sussexes’ willingness to break their silence, noting, “Meghan and Harry don’t feel they have to stay silent any more, it’s clear in the interviews they’ve done, and the other shows.” He warned that if the couple pursues more public appearances or reality-style projects, especially those discussing their relationship with William and Kate, it could cause significant difficulties for the rest of the family.

This strategic shift follows reports that Prince Harry and Meghan have overhauled their public relations team. The couple recently parted ways with communications chiefs Charlie Gipson and Kyle Boulia, reportedly dissatisfied with their handling of negative press. According to The Telegraph, as many as six staff members have left or been dismissed in recent weeks as the Sussexes prepare for a new direction.
The Sussexes’ new PR firm made headlines with the release of a playful video showing Meghan dancing during labor, accompanied by Harry’s lighthearted “dad dancing.” While this fresh, candid approach may appeal to some, McNamara pointed out that it clashes with the more formal and carefully maintained image upheld by William and Kate.
“Kate and William have certain standards to uphold and an image to portray and maintain,” the expert explained. “Harry and Meghan are more outgoing than the Waleses, but Meghan’s labor video, with her twerking and Harry’s dad dancing, goes beyond that.”
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to craft their unique public persona, the royal family, particularly Prince William and Kate Middleton, must prepare for potential fallout from this evolving dynamic.
