According to reports from GB News, the Princess of Wales is “very likely” to make an appearance at this year’s iconic tennis tournament. If confirmed, this would mark her first public outing since she missed Royal Ascot, raising hopes among fans that she’s ready to re-engage with her royal duties.

Wimbledon: More Than a Royal Duty for Princess Kate

While her potential appearance at Wimbledon would certainly carry public significance, for Princess Catherine, the event is deeply personal. A longtime tennis enthusiast and royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Kate has passed her love for the sport down to her children — especially Prince George.

In a heartwarming glimpse into royal life, it was revealed that in 2019, a then six-year-old Prince George enjoyed a private tennis lesson with none other than Swiss legend Roger Federer. The session reportedly took place at the Middleton family’s Berkshire home and was arranged by Kate herself, who shares a friendly rapport with Federer.

“At that stage, it’s all about just touching the ball — it’s already good,” Federer told OK! Magazine, reflecting on the young prince’s early interest in the sport. He added with a smile, “I think I have a little advantage… I’m the only player he’s ever met.”

A Family Affair at Centre Court

Princess Kate’s passion for tennis has often been visible at Wimbledon, where she’s been spotted cheering from the Royal Box alongside Prince William and their children. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have already experienced the thrill of watching matches live, while youngest sibling Prince Louis has yet to make his courtside debut.

Whether or not Princess Kate makes a confirmed appearance at Wimbledon 2025, the royal family’s connection to the event remains as strong as ever. And for many fans, seeing the Princess back at Centre Court would be more than just a photo opportunity — it would be a reassuring sign of her continued presence and strength.
