Meghan Markle is once again at the center of renewed speculation surrounding Prince Harry’s potential return to the royal fold. According to royal experts, the Duchess of Sussex may be the main reason preventing reconciliation between Harry and his family—particularly Prince William and King Charles.
Meghan Markle Seen as the “Hurdle” to Royal Reconciliation
Veteran royal commentator Charles Rae recently weighed in on the Duke of Sussex’s strained ties with the royal family, suggesting that Meghan remains the biggest obstacle in the path to peace.
“There is a couple of huge flies in the ointment here, and one is Meghan,” Rae claimed in a recent interview.
He added that the tensions go deeper than just the Sussexes’ departure, noting that Prince William may be harboring long-standing resentment over the fallout with his younger brother.
“Of all the people in all this, [William] is the one who feels, in my view, most hurt by what has happened between him and his brother,” Rae continued. “And there’s only one person that he is blaming, and that is Meghan.”
Experts Say Meghan May Never Return to the UK
Another royal insider, Arthur Edwards, a longtime royal photographer, expressed serious doubt over Meghan Markle ever visiting the UK again.
“Whether she ever comes to this country again—that would be the big moment,” Edwards said during The Sun’s Royal Show. “When you tell me that Meghan’s coming to England, then I’ll be surprised, because she managed to avoid it.”
Despite the drama, Edwards emphasized that Harry has made his choice clear.
“She’s his wife and the mother of his children, and he’s chosen a life with her in America—which is his choice.”
Prince Harry Cites Security Concerns for Staying Away
Prince Harry has long maintained that security concerns are a major reason he has avoided returning to the UK with Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet. Without police protection, the Duke says it’s not safe for his family to travel to Britain.

However, royal observers suggest that Harry’s perspective is deeply influenced by Meghan’s stance. Historians and commentators believe the Duke is unlikely to make any move toward reconciliation unless Meghan fully supports it.
“Harry sees things through Meghan’s eyes now,” one expert noted. “He won’t step forward without her green light.”
A Family Rift That May Never Heal?
While speculation around Harry’s future with the royal family continues, many experts believe that reconciliation remains unlikely as long as deep emotional scars remain—particularly between William and Meghan.
With no confirmed plans for a UK visit on the horizon and legal battles still ongoing, it appears that the Sussexes’ return to royal life may be off the table for the foreseeable future.
