Joe Jonas is candidly sharing how life on tour has impacted his approach to dating and relationships. The 36-year-old singer, currently performing on the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour, told Esquirethat constantly being on the road makes it challenging to maintain a normal dating life.
“Five shows in a row doesn’t make it easy to meet someone for coffee,” Jonas admitted, highlighting the difficulties of finding time for romance while touring.
While Jonas doesn’t rely on traditional dating apps, he revealed that social media platforms like Instagram and TikTokhave become his main way of connecting with new people organically.
The singer, who was previously married to actress Sophie Turner, shares two daughters with her — Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3. Following their divorce filing in September 2023, the split was finalized a year later. Reflecting on dating post-divorce, Jonas described the experience as “scary and intimidating,” but also a period of rediscovery.
During a TalkShopLive stream earlier this year, Jonas explained that his song “Only Love” was inspired by someone he was seeing at the time. He recounted a conversation where his date said, “Well, it’s only love,” which ultimately became the song’s central idea.
“Like, it was not a big deal, but it was a big deal to me, and a big deal to them, too. But it’s okay to take a leap of faith and just try again and put yourself out there,” Jonas said.
Despite the challenges in his personal life, Jonas emphasized the strong co-parenting relationship he shares with Turner. Speaking during Jay Shetty’s On Purpose Live Tour in Florida, he praised Turner as an “incredible mom” and expressed gratitude for the partnership in raising their daughters.
“Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true,” he said.
“I want them to grow up confident, compassionate, and to look up to great women.”
As Jonas continues to balance his career and personal life, fans can catch the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20 tour through December. Additionally, the trio will be featured in A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, set to premiere on Disney+ on November 14.
