Daniel Radcliffe has shared a candid and nostalgic take on his time as Harry Potter, revealing his personal ranking of the beloved film series during a recent podcast appearance.
The actor, who rose to global fame playing Harry Potter across eight films, made the comments while speaking on the Happy Sad Confused hosted by Josh Horowitz.
“I Haven’t Watched Them in a Long Time”
Radcliffe admitted that he has not revisited the films recently, explaining that his perception of them has changed over time.
He shared that while he once felt uncomfortable watching his early performances, he now views them with more appreciation—and occasionally cringes at later ones instead.
Ranking the Wizarding World
When asked to rank the films, Radcliffe approached the challenge with humour and enthusiasm, comparing some of his favorite entries in the franchise.
He said he prefers Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets over Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, citing his love for the Basilisk storyline.

Between Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he chose Goblet of Fire, saying he particularly enjoyed the experience of filming it.
His Top and Bottom Picks
Radcliffe also praised Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 as one of his favorites in the series.
At the other end of the spectrum, he noted that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince sits at the bottom of his personal ranking.
A Reflective Look Back
Now 36, Radcliffe’s reflections highlight how his relationship with the iconic franchise has evolved over time—from child actor to adult looking back on a career-defining role.
His comments offer fans a rare and personal glimpse into how the star views the wizarding world that made him one of the most recognisable actors of his generation.
