Prince Harry, who recently appeared in a London High Court for legal proceedings in a privacy case, will reportedly be staying at his official residence in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage, during his visit to the UK. According to sources, the Duke of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage after attending the hearing.
Frogmore Cottage is set to remain the Sussexes’ official residence in Windsor for a few more weeks. It is located just a short walk away from Adelaide Cottage, where Prince and Princess Kate reside with their children.
The property was given to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by the late Queen Elizabeth II, but King Charles has asked them to vacate the cottage. As the Sussexes have given up their full-time royal duties and relocated to California, they are currently in the process of moving their belongings out of the cottage and shipping them to the US.
There are also rumors that Harry will stay with a friend instead of going to the palace until King Charles invites him to meet.
Meanwhile, The privacy case in which Harry appeared is related to a claim launched by celebrities and other figures against a UK newspaper publisher. The group alleges that the publisher of the Daily Mail commissioned the breaking and entry into private property, illegally intercepted voicemail messages, and obtained medical records. Lawyers for the group have described the alleged actions as numerous unlawful acts carried out by the defendant or those acting on the instructions of its newspapers.
A preliminary hearing is being held at the high court, with the newspaper publisher arguing that the allegations are “stale” and should be dismissed without a trial. The publisher has described the allegations as “preposterous smears” and a “pre-planned and orchestrated attempt to drag the Mail titles into the phone-hacking scandal.”
As the case unfolds, Prince Harry will remain in the UK, staying at Frogmore Cottage until he completes his visit.
