A powerful explosion that reverberated through the Zagorsk Optical-Mechanical Plant, an optical and electronic equipment design and manufacturing company located just outside Moscow, has left a total of 52 people injured, with three of them in critical condition. Preliminary investigations by RT indicate that the blast originated from within the pyrotechnics warehouse situated within the premises of the factory. The aftermath of the explosion saw a significant number of individuals requiring medical assistance, with the governor of the Moscow Region, Andrey Vorobyev, initially reporting 31 injuries, including three critical cases. However, the count later surged to 43, with six individuals suffering from burns and head injuries being admitted for intensive care treatment.
Amid the chaos, concerns have been raised about potential victims trapped under debris and rubble, with an estimate of up to five people still unaccounted for.
