Blake Lively has encountered a legal setback as a federal judge dismissed her claims against PR specialist Jed Wallace, citing lack of jurisdiction. The ruling, issued by Judge Lewis Liman on Wednesday, determined that the court in New York does not have the authority to preside over Wallace or his Texas-based company, Street Relations.
Court Finds No Grounds for New York Jurisdiction
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Wallace’s legal team successfully argued for dismissal based on geographical grounds. “The Wallace Defendant’s motion to dismiss must be granted because the Court lacks personal jurisdiction over them,” the documents state.

Judge Liman clarified that the alleged wrongful actions took place outside New York, and that Lively failed to provide sufficient evidence linking Wallace directly to any New York-based conduct.
“The Wallace Defendants are located in Texas, and Lively has not alleged that they are responsible for any act that would subject them to jurisdiction in New York,” the court explained.
Legal Action Could Be Refiled in Texas
While the dismissal favors Wallace, it does not necessarily close the door on further legal action. Lively now has the option to amend her complaint or refile the lawsuit in a state that has jurisdiction over the PR executive and his firm.
Wallace’s attorney, Chip Babcock of Jackson Walker LLP, expressed appreciation for the judge’s decision.
“Mr. Wallace and Street Relations very much appreciate the judge’s thoughtful and thorough opinion,” he said.
Allegations of Smear Campaign Remain Unresolved
The dispute centers on Lively’s allegations that Wallace collaborated with actor Justin Baldoni’s PR team in a coordinated smear campaign against her. Lively claims Wallace “weaponized a digital army” to distribute and promote harmful content online—a charge Wallace has publicly denied.
Although the court dismissed Wallace from this specific lawsuit, the broader civil rights case remains ongoing, with potential future developments expected depending on Lively’s legal strategy moving forward.
What’s Next for Blake Lively?
It’s unclear whether Lively plans to refile in Texas or pursue other legal avenues. The actress has yet to release a statement following the court’s dismissal. As the situation continues to unfold, fans and legal watchers alike will be keeping a close eye on what happens next in this high-profile dispute.
