It’s going to be almost a month since BTS member Jungkook enlisted for his mandatory military service. Ahead of the one-month mark, Jungkook’s brother shared a rather emotional update about the BTS star.
On Jan. 3, Jeon Jung-hyun, brother of Jungkook, shared an update about the ‘golden maknae.’ Taking to Instagram, JK’s brother posted a photo that featured a white box having Jungkook’s civilian clothes, which he had worn on the day of his enlistment. The box also carried a rather touching tribute. “I’m proud of you, the Republic of Korea Army,” it read along with a little figure of a military soldier.
The Army was quick to respond to the post.
After Jin, Suga, and J-hope BTS’ maknae line, namely RM, Jimin, Jungkook, and V, enlisted for their mandatory military service in December 2023. RM and V joined the Nonsan Training Center on December 11 for their basic military training.
Jungkook and Jimin, meanwhile, who enlisted on Dec. 12, joined the same training center where Jin is an assistant instructor. The group may reunite by June 2025, with Suga being the last member to return.
Jungkook, before enlisting, made his solo debut with Seven in July 2023. After that, the BTS star released 3D featuring Jack Harlow and Too Much with The Kid Laroi and Central Cee. The Standing Next To You singer ultimately released his first solo album, GOLDEN, on November 3.
Having 11 tracks, the album featured multiple artists like Jack Harlow, Major Lazer, Latto, and DJ Snake. Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes were also on the album as songwriters. After the release of his solo album, JK held his first solo concert in Seoul.
