D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, has been charged in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, according to Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman.
Officials announced on Monday that Burke faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, following a months-long investigation that has drawn significant public attention.
Remains Found in Vehicle Registered to Artist
According to the District Attorney’s office, Rivas Hernandez’s remains were discovered last year inside the front trunk of a vehicle registered to Burke.
Authorities say the car had been parked in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood for an extended period before being towed to an impound lot, where staff reportedly raised concerns due to a strong odor.
The victim had been reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, located southeast of Los Angeles, approximately a year and a half before the discovery.
Investigation and Arrest
Officials stated that Burke had been under investigation for months prior to his arrest, with a grand jury reportedly reviewing evidence in the case.
His legal team has maintained that he intends to contest the allegations, stating that they “will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”

In addition to the murder charge, prosecutors have also brought further allegations involving sexual offenses related to a minor, according to the District Attorney’s announcement.
