Kim Kardashian is sounding the alarm on scammers who are using her name to exploit the victims of the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
On January 12, 2025, the 44-year-old reality star took to Instagram to alert her millions of followers about a fraudulent fundraising campaign that falsely claimed to be raising money for those affected by the disaster.
Kardashian shared a screenshot of one such scam titled “Kim Kardashian Campaigns For Affected People In LA,” which contained noticeable grammatical errors, calling attention to the legitimacy of the campaign. The reality star issued a stern warning to her followers, writing, “Beware of scammers!” and adding, “This is not real. If anyone gets an email like this — how horrible.”
She made it clear that she had no involvement in the fake campaign and urged her fans to be cautious and avoid falling victim to the scam.
In addition to addressing the fraud, Kardashian expressed her deep concern for those affected by the wildfires, which have been raging through Southern California. She expressed heartfelt gratitude for the tireless work of the firefighters on the front lines. “I’ve spent the last week watching my city burn and have spoken to many firefighters who are up all night using every ounce of their strength to save our community,” she posted, showing her support for the brave men and women risking their lives.
The wildfires have devastated large parts of Los Angeles, scorching an area of 40,000 acres and destroying over 12,300 structures, including homes of celebrities and prominent spots in the city’s wealthiest neighborhoods. The fires have claimed at least 24 lives, and authorities are bracing for more damage as strong winds threaten to spread the flames further.
Kim Kardashian’s call for caution comes as the region continues to battle the raging fires, and her support for the relief efforts highlights the urgency and gravity of the situation.
