Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, the iconic duo who brought Titanic’s Jack and Rose to life, recently reunited at a special screening of Winslet’s latest film, Lee, in Los Angeles.
DiCaprio, who introduced Winslet on stage, spoke with deep admiration for his longtime friend and co-star. “Kate Winslet has dedicated herself to this film and to honoring Lee’s legacy for over nine years,” he said.
Reflecting on her commitment, he added, “I remember her speaking about this to me personally. This has been a massive passion project for her, a journey that highlights the depth of Kate’s passion and her dedication to telling stories that deserve to be remembered.”
Praising Winslet’s performance, DiCaprio continued, “Kate, my dear friend, your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative. I continue to be awestruck by your strength, integrity, talent, and the passion you bring to every project you create. So without further ado, one of the great talents of my generation—the one and only Kate Winslet.”
Winslet, visibly emotional, responded with gratitude. “I can’t even look at Leo now, or else I’ll cry,” she said through tears. “I can’t tell you what it means to me. Making this film was about people showing up with good grace and supporting me in telling a story that could have been hidden from view forever.”
Lee, released in September, had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. The film is a passion project for Winslet, showcasing her dedication to bringing meaningful and untold stories to the forefront.
The emotional reunion between the two stars reminded fans of the enduring bond forged during their Titanic days, a connection that continues to resonate both on and off the screen.
