In a much-anticipated collaboration, Lindsay Lohan and Netflix are set to grace screens with an enchanting holiday movie, “Our Little Secret.” The streaming giant recently announced that Lohan, aged 37, will lead this festive feature as part of her two-picture deal with Netflix, following her successful 2022 romantic comedy, “Falling for Christmas.”
The film’s official logline teases a compelling plot, stating, “Two resentful exes are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings.” With principal photography already underway, the movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Kristin Chenoweth, Ian Harding, Jon Rudnitsky, Chris Parnell, and Tim Meadows, Lohan’s co-star from “Mean Girls.”
Netflix’s initial partnership with Lohan was announced in March 2022, leading to the release of “Falling for Christmas” on the platform. This marked a significant return to a major starring role for Lohan, whose last film in this capacity was 2013’s “The Canyons,” with a supporting role in the 2019 movie “Among the Shadows.”
In “Falling for Christmas,” Lohan played a newly engaged hotel heiress dealing with amnesia following a skiing accident. The heartwarming narrative unfolds as she finds herself under the care of a charming lodge owner, portrayed by Chord Overstreet, alongside his daughter. The upcoming film, “Our Little Secret,” promises to deliver another captivating story, blending romance with the festive spirit.
“Irish Wish,” another project included in the Netflix collaboration, features Lohan as Maddie, a woman attending a wedding in Ireland as her best friend’s bridesmaid. The plot takes an unexpected turn when Maddie, secretly in love with her friend’s fiancé, makes a spontaneous wish for true love, waking up as the bride-to-be herself.
“Our Little Secret” is the second of the two films announced in Netflix’s initial partnership with Lohan. Christina Rogers, Netflix’s director of independent film, expressed excitement about the ongoing collaboration, stating, “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with her, and we look forward to bringing more of her films to our members around the world.”
Since her return to the big screen, Lohan has expanded her artistic endeavors, making appearances in Rita Ora’s 2023 music video “You Only Love Me” and reprising her iconic role as Cady Heron in Walmart’s Black Friday ads. She also surprised fans with a cameo in the recent “Mean Girls” movie musical.
While “Our Little Secret” awaits an official release date, “Irish Wish” is set to start streaming on Netflix from March 15, promising audiences more cinematic magic from the talented Lindsay Lohan.
