LOS ANGELES — Megan Thee Stallion is getting candid about the emotional challenges of balancing global fame with her private identity.
During a new interview with Entrepreneur Magazine, the rapper reflected on learning how to separate her public persona from her personal life after years in the spotlight.
Megan says fame changed personal relationships
The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, admitted that success in the music industry began affecting how people around her treated her.
“I feel like I had to learn how to separate Megan Pete and Megan Thee Stallion,” she explained.

According to the rapper, even longtime friends and people who had known her before fame started interacting with her differently once her career skyrocketed.
‘I was on all the time’
Megan revealed there was a period when she felt unable to disconnect from her celebrity identity.
“I was Megan Thee Stallion all the time. I was on all the time,” she shared.
The rapper said constant attention sometimes made normal interactions feel uncomfortable, especially when people around her focused more on celebrity culture than genuine connection.
She also admitted she struggled with being constantly recorded or treated differently by those close to her.
Protecting peace and personal life
Over time, Megan said she realized she needed stronger boundaries between her work life and home life for her own mental wellbeing.
The rapper explained that she now avoids carrying the pressures of fame into her relationships with family and close friends.
“Whatever happened to Megan Thee Stallion today, I should not take that home to my real friends and my real relationships and my family,” she said.
“This is two different lives I’m living.”
Wanting fans to feel uplifted
Despite the challenges of fame, Megan said she still hopes fans walk away from interactions with her feeling happier and supported.
The rapper emphasized that she wants her fanbase, known as the “Hotties,” to feel comfort and positivity whenever they meet her.
Megan continues career success
The interview comes as Megan Thee Stallion continues expanding her influence beyond music through business ventures, performances, and brand collaborations.
Known for hits like Savage, WAP, and Good News, the artist remains one of the most recognizable figures in hip-hop today.
