Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have avoided another public roasting from South Park, but it seems their ongoing struggles with public perception are far from over.
The trailer for South Park’s 27th season recently dropped, and to the royal couple’s relief, neither appeared in the preview—despite fans hoping for more. While this could be seen as a break for Meghan and Harry, whose image has taken a hit in recent years, the situation may not be as straightforward as it seems.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams weighed in during an interview on GB News, warning that the couple could face serious consequences if their popularity in the U.S. continues to slide.

“A lot of people are laughing at them after South Park satirized their hypocrisy—how they obsess over privacy while simultaneously airing their grievances and attacking the Royal Family,” Fitzwilliams said. “If their support in America slips badly, they could find themselves in serious trouble.”
In 2023, South Park didn’t hold back in its criticism, calling the Sussexes “dumb” and “stupid,” while humorously parodying Prince Harry’s memoir Spare as “Waaagh.”
A source revealed to The Spectator at the time that Meghan was “annoyed” by the satire but refused to watch it, feeling “upset and overwhelmed” by the portrayal.
The couple’s team swiftly hit back, dismissing the reports as “nonsense” and “totally baseless, boring reports” in a statement to People.
With Meghan’s new lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, set to debut in March, fans had hoped for another South Parkepisode mocking the couple. But the show’s creators chose not to engage with the idea, leaving many online commentators to urge them to parody Meghan’s new content, calling it “comedy gold” and a perfect subject for a satire.
Though Meghan and Harry’s avoidance of another South Park appearance may seem like a victory, the continued public scrutiny they face suggests that the real challenges for the couple may lie ahead. The question remains whether they can rebuild their public image or if they’ll continue to be the target of media mockery.
