Meghan Markle is said to be feeling frustrated after the announcement that Victoria Beckham’s Netflix documentary, The House of VB, is set to be released ahead of her own highly anticipated cooking show. Sources close to Meghan suggest that the Duchess, who had been eagerly anticipating the debut of her own project, is disappointed that Victoria’s fashion-centric documentary is capturing attention first, overshadowing her upcoming venture.
Victoria Beckham’s documentary, which chronicles her journey in the fashion world, has generated significant buzz, especially with its Netflix release. Meghan, who has been planning the launch of her cooking show, reportedly feels as though she has been eclipsed by Victoria’s timely spotlight.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine, weighed in on the situation, stating that Meghan is likely “furious” about the release timing. Speaking with Fabulous, Seward explained, “I’m sure she would have been furious because she likes to be in control.” She elaborated that Meghan, known for her meticulous planning, would find it frustrating that Victoria had secured the Netflix spotlight before her. “I think she’d be annoyed that Victoria had pipped her to the post,” Seward added.
However, Seward believes that Meghan is unlikely to express her frustration openly. “She has to be magnanimous about it deep down inside. She might be annoyed, but she cannot show it. She knows she can’t possibly show it. She has to say ‘isn’t it wonderful and isn’t Victoria wonderful?’” Seward noted, suggesting that Meghan understands the importance of maintaining a diplomatic public image.
Despite her possible irritation, Seward suggests that Meghan will likely focus on the long-term benefits of the situation. “Meghan saying ‘I want to go first’ is not going to make any difference to them,” she remarked. Instead, Seward offered the perspective that Meghan may need to view Victoria’s documentary as a stepping stone. “I think Meghan has to see it as maybe Victoria Beckham paving the way for her,” she concluded.
Although the timing of Victoria’s release has caused some tension, Meghan Markle is reportedly choosing to stay focused on her own projects, remaining hopeful that her cooking show will find success in its own right, despite the attention already garnered by her royal counterpart’s fashion-focused film.
