Meghan Markle is taking a mindful approach to public life. During her appearance at the TIME100 Summit in New York City, she emphasized the importance of boundaries for mental well-being.
On April 23, the Duchess of Sussex joined Time CEO Jessica Sibley for a keynote discussion where she shared insights into how she copes with online criticism and prioritizes her mental health.
“I’ve made a conscious decision to protect my peace,” Meghan, 43, explained. “It’s about creating clear boundaries—not only for myself but also to be a role model for my children.”

The Duchess revealed she intentionally avoids reading online commentary about her work, which includes projects like her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, and her new podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.
Citing a well-known quote by comedian Tina Fey, Meghan humorously added, “If you ever feel good about yourself, there’s always the internet—where plenty of people will remind you otherwise.”

As a mother of two—Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3—Meghan said that becoming a parent has reinforced her desire to maintain a healthy inner world. “Raising a confident daughter and a son who values self-respect starts with how we care for ourselves,” she said.
Despite the constant spotlight, Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, continue to champion a balanced, grounded lifestyle—especially when it comes to their family values.
