Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Unleash Holiday Vibes with a Nostalgic Twist: ‘Last Christmas’ Recreation

As Christmas draws near, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney spread holiday joy uniquely. The dynamic duo, who co-own the U.K. football team Wrexham, embraced the season by recreating the iconic Last Christmas single cover originally by British musical duo Wham!

In a delightful and light-hearted gesture, Reynolds, 47, and McElhenney, 46, transformed to mirror the iconic Wham! stars, Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael, in the 1986 original cover image. The humorous results were shared with fans on Monday, with McElhenney posting the images on his Instagram page and Reynolds featuring the picture on his Instagram Stories.

Replacing the names of the music artists with their own beneath the black-and-white photo, the duo incorporated the logo of their beloved Wrexham football team in the corner. Adding a touch of holiday spirit, the caption featured a Christmas tree emoji and the enthusiastic exclamation “WREXHAM!”

In an additional playful move, the celebrities recreated the cover of Fantastic, the 1983 Wham! studio album, while donning stylish leather jackets. Against a vibrant crimson background, Reynolds left his jacket undone, and McElhenney sported a moustache reminiscent of Ridgeley’s in the original cover.

Demonstrating their clever wit, the duo substituted “Wrexham!” for “Wham!” at the top of the cover art, offering warm holiday greetings directly from Wrexham.

To infuse a musical element into their festive tribute, McElhenney shared the pictures on his Instagram stories while playing the well-known holiday song “Last Christmas” by Wham! This playful homage showcases the duo’s creativity and festive spirit as they continue to capture the hearts of fans in and outside the world of football.
