Renowned for his role in “That ’70s Show,” actor Danny Masterson has commenced his prison term at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, following his conviction for two counts of rape. The transfer marks a significant development in the legal saga that unfolded over allegations dating back to 2003. As Masterson adjusts to the medium-security prison’s regulations, we delve into the details of his restricted schedule, the reception process, and the ongoing legal battle he faces.

TMZ reported that Masterson, 47, is undergoing a reception and classification process at North Kern State Prison, a procedure expected to last up to 90 days. During this phase, he will be placed in the prison’s privilege group U, albeit with stringent limitations, including no family visits, restricted access to entertainment, and no possession of personal items.

The California Department of Corrections has outlined specific communication protocols for Masterson, allowing him one phone call during the first week and subsequently one call per month until the completion of the classification process. Despite these restrictions, Masterson will have access to the prison yard and recreational facilities.

Sources close to Masterson have reported his display of “exceptional strength of mind and spirit” during his time in the LA County jail. Despite the current circumstances, the actor remains hopeful that his conviction will be overturned on appeal, underscoring the ongoing legal complexities surrounding his case.

Masterson’s conviction in May pertains to two rapes in 2003, with a third rape charge narrowly avoided. The sentencing trial featured emotional testimony from one of the victims, identified as Jane Doe 1, who described Masterson as a “true coward and heartless monster.” Jane Doe 1 also detailed her struggles with extreme fear and recurring tears upon waking up. Additionally, she shared her background of being born into a family of Scientologists, revealing how the church protected Masterson when she reported the rape.

As Danny Masterson embarks on his prison term, the legal proceedings surrounding his case continue to unravel complex layers. The transfer to North Kern State Prison signifies a new chapter in his legal journey, with the actor maintaining optimism amid ongoing challenges. The impact of this high-profile case extends beyond the celebrity realm, shedding light on the complexities and emotional toll of sexual assault cases within the broader context of legal and institutional frameworks.
