Tom Hanks, known for his versatility and engaging performances in various film roles, is expressing his strong desire to travel to space. So committed is he to this dream that he’s willing to take on the unglamorous role of a janitor if it means getting a seat on a spacecraft.
Promoting his upcoming project, “The Moonwalkers,” Tom Hanks shared his enthusiasm for space travel with The Telegraph. He outlined his aspirations, stating, “I would like to be the guy in charge of serving food and making jokes to and from the moon.”
With his characteristic humor, Hanks continued, “If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories, and keeps everybody entertained. I’m your man. I would probably sign up right now!”
In a humorous twist, Hanks suggested, “That might be a good idea, I’ll do all the work. I’ll clean the toilet. I’ll serve the food. I’ll fold clothes. I’ll stow the gear. That way, the others could be free to do other stuff.”
Tom Hanks has a unique connection to space through his portrayal of astronaut Jim Lovell in the 1995 film “Apollo 13.” His upcoming project, “The Moonwalkers,” which he co-wrote, explores the stories of the Apollo missions and is scheduled to debut on December 6 in London.
