Travis Kelce has addressed the recent accusations made by rapper Lil Wayne, who claimed that the Kansas City Chiefs were cheating during their NFL season. The 35-year-old football star shared his thoughts on the controversy during the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, on January 22.
In the episode, Jason Kelce brought up the social media post by Lil Wayne, where the rapper expressed frustration with the referees and accused the Chiefs of cheating: “Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne [wrote on social media], ‘I hate the cheating a- Chiefs. So an a– with two z’s,’” Jason said. Travis, in a light-hearted response, addressed the rapper by his nickname, saying, “Shout out to Tunechie, man.”
The criticisms stem from the controversial officiating during the playoff game between the Chiefs and the Houston Texans on January 18. Following the game, Lil Wayne took to X (formerly Twitter), writing, “It’s not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat. Just win baby.”
Despite the accusations, Travis Kelce and his team are focused on the upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, January 26, for the AFC Conference Championship, as they aim to secure their spot in the Super Bowl.
