In a statement, earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli army said that Israel launched strikes overnight on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
It said, “The Israeli army is striking military targets of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah on Lebanese territory.”
Since the beginning of the battle triggered by the surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, conflicts on the Israel-Lebanon border have left around 10 people dead on the Lebanese side, mainly fighters but also a Reuters journalist and two civilians.
At least two people have been killed on the Israeli side.
The international community worries about an escalation of the battle between the Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah, a supporter of Hamas, and the Israeli army.
Israel started evacuating thousands of residents in 28 locations in the north of the nation after these border conflicts.
