On Wednesday, in a televised interview with Sky News, Former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Dan Gillerman, called the Palestinian people “horrible, inhuman animals.”
Gillerman made the comments in response to a question about Israel’s collective punishment of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip and the blockade on essential supplies such as electricity and fuel.
He said, “I am very puzzled by the constant concern which the world is showing for the Palestinian people and is actually showing for these horrible inhuman animals who have done the worst atrocities that this century has seen.”
The former Israeli ambassador to the UN also compared Hamas’s deadly October 7 attack on Israel to 9/11, saying that he does not recall people shedding tears for the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, referring to the global outcry on the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.
Gillerman said, “All of a sudden when it comes to Israel everybody is becoming a great humanitarian, totally forgetting what happened two weeks ago, which is unforgettable and unforgivable.”
Israel declared a total siege on Gaza after the shock October 7 attack by Hamas in which 1,400 Israelis were killed and around 220 taken hostage.
Israel, since then, has launched relentless airstrikes on the densely populated Gaza Strip and imposed a blockade on critical supplies such as food and water.
