AEW may suspend CM Punk from their company indefinitely, but that hasn’t prevented him from interacting with some current and former WWE coworkers.
Alongside “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, CM Punk was suspended following AEW All In after the two of them got into a physical fight over Perry’s “Cry Me a river” statement following Punk rejecting Perry’s bid to use actual glass in an angle.
Tony Khan, the President of AEW, has held things secret on the case pending an inquiry, but he has demonstrated that Punk was taken off of this weekend’s All Out PPV.
Punk hasn’t commented on the issue, but part of that was because he was engaged and got the Cauliflower Alley Club’s Iron Mike Mazurki Award at the 2023 CAC induction ceremony.
As Punk received his award, he didn’t say anything related to AEW and rather focused his term and power on taking pictures with some of his former opponents and coworkers from his term in WWE.
Punk posted a string of pictures to his Instagram story which noticed a smiling Punk alongside the likes of Bradshaw & Ron “Faarooq” Simmons, Mickie James, and current WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio.
During his award-receiving speech, Punk laughed off objections and absence of concern from some people and stated that he gained respect from the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, and Harley Race.
The Iron Mike Mazurki Award is given to wrestlers who have made outstanding contributions to professional wrestling and have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the sport both inside and outside the ring.
Other wrestlers and wrestling-related personalities praised in 2023 include Mickie James, The Nasty Boys, Koko B. Ware, Joe Malenko, and Killer Karl Kox.
