On Friday, Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian drone over the country’s capital, Moscow, Russia’s official said, the latest in a tide of air attacks targeting Moscow.
Kyiv launched the aerial attack at about 04:00 (0100 GMT) operating a pilotless air vehicle against objects located in the Russian capital, Moscow, and the Moscow region, the Russian defense ministry said.
The defense ministry said on Telegram that the UAV, after being uncovered to be air defense weapons, changed its flight direction and dropped on a non-residential building in the Krasnopresnenskaya embankment area of Moscow.
Emergency services were on the stage, but earlier reports suggested there were no casualties, the Mayor of Moscow said.
Via Telegram, Sergei Sobyanin said that the remains of the UAV dropped in the area of the Expo Center, and did not provoke considerable destruction to the building.
One of the walls of the Expo Center’s pavilion had partially damaged, mentioning emergency services, TASS news agency reported.
Emergency service told TASS that the area of the destruction is about 30 square meters.
