On Thursday, Gaza authorities reported that for the sixth consecutive day of violence, a barrage of Israeli rockets raided the Gaza Strip, the attack wiped out entire neighborhoods and killed dozens of civilians.
The Israeli army announced in the early hours of Thursday morning that it had launched “a large-scale strike” on Gaza in an attempt to back militant group Hamas into a corner after a surprising attack by the group on Saturday.
According to Al Arabiya Israeli air strikes on a house in the city of Jabalia, north of the besieged city killed at least 15 people on Thursday morning.
The report added that the Israeli navy also launched bombs on the Palestinian refugee camp al-Shati, or Beach camp, in the northern Gaza Strip.
On Thursday, the Palestinian health ministry announced that the death toll in its territories has increased to at least 1,200, with over 5,600 wounds. At least 1,200 Israelis have died and more than 2,700 people were wounded, the Israeli military said.
According to the United Nations, almost 340,000 people in Gaza were left with nowhere no to go as an outcome of Israel’s constant bombardment of the city.
OCHA, the UN humanitarian agency said in a statement sent on Thursday, “Mass displacement across the Gaza Strip continues.”
Israel enforced a “complete siege” of the territory of Palestine, containing food and fuel from reaching the needy city.
The Palestinian Red Crescent has cautioned that if the banning on fuel continues, ambulance services in Gaza would have to prevent services within four days, leaving civilians without health services amid continued shelling.
Alia Zaki, the Head of Communications and Information Management at the Palestine Country Office for the UN’s World Food Program, said, “The situation is catastrophic. Gaza is on the brink of running out of food, water, and electricity.”
