Death toll in Turkey-Syria could hit 42,000 followed by the massive earthquake

After last week’s earthquake, the death toll in Turkey-Syria could hit 42,000. Followed by the massive earthquake in Turkey-Syria, the confirmed death in Turkey were recorded 36,187, while 5,800 deaths are recorded in Syria. These records pushed the overall death toll to 41,987 which is almost 42,000.

NATO chief arrived in Turkey

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg has arrived in the capital of Turkey, Ankara. He is scheduled to visit quake-hit areas.

But before that, he is likely to meet Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu and then Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They are expected to discuss shelters and aid provided by NATO.

Pakistan PM Visits Turkey

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced via Twitter that he is leaving for Turkey with a message of unwavering solidarity and support for our Turkish brothers and sisters from the people and government of Pakistan.

He encourages others to step forward to assist quake-hit-victims with service aids, medical facilities, and all the necessary aid they want. He wrote, No country, howsoever resourceful, can deal with the devastation of this magnitude. It is time the world came forward & extended support to the suffering humanity.

Turkish fundraising raise $6bn for quake-victims

As per reported by Anadolu Agency, a Turkish fund-raising drive has raised almost $6.1bn to aid earthquake-hit victims with the help of Turkish politicians, state institutions, and Turkish citizens.

While the $1.6bn was the biggest donation that was donated by the Turkish Central Bank. While Ziraat bank donates $1bn and Vakif bank donated $637mln to the earthquake-hit victims.
