Hamas appreciates Hezbollah’s support against Israel

Hamas said Thursday it “highly appreciates” Hezbollah’s support after the Lebanese group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah vowed to keep fighting Israel until a ceasefire has been reached in Gaza.

The Palestinian militants said Nasrallah’s stance frustrated “plans to undermine the support front of our people and resistance in the Gaza Strip” with deadly communications device explosions in Hezbollah strongholds across Lebanon.

Speaking Thursday, Nasrallah acknowledged that Hezbollah had suffered an “unprecedented” blow from the blasts, which killed 37 people and wounded nearly 3,000 across two days, but vowed that Hezbollah’s operations against Israel would continue.

Israel has not commented on the attacks.

“The Lebanese front will not stop until the aggression on Gaza stops” despite “all this blood spilt,” Nasrallah said.

Hezbollah militants have traded near-daily fire with Israeli troops across the Lebanese border since Hamas’s October 7 attacks on Israel sparked a war in Gaza.

For nearly a year the focus of Israel’s firepower has been on Gaza but in recent days senior officials have said the focus has shifted north to Lebanon.
