Turkish goalkeeper tragically dies in earthquake

Turkish goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan has died following Monday’s devastating earthquake in Turkey.

28 years old goalkeeper Turkaslan was the victim of one of many collapsed buildings in Turkey. His club Yeni Malatyaspor announced on Twitter that, “Our goalkeeper, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, lost his life after being under the collapse of the earthquake. Rest in peace.”

They also said, “We will not forget you, beautiful person.”

Turkaslan played six times for Turkish second division club Yeni Malatyaspor after joining in 2021. He made two appearances in the Turkish Cup this season and spent two years on Yeni Malatyaspor’s books.

More than 5,000 people have lost their lives in Turkey and Syria following the earthquake.
