On Thursday, the royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed Apple CEO Tim Cook — a meeting he later a “true honor” on X (formerly known as Twitter) — before discussing mental health and the environment.
The recent meeting was listed in the official rundown of royal engagements, as being held under the umbrella of William, being President of the Earthshot Prize.
The royal couple and Apple CEO are concerned about the upcoming awards ceremony which will disclose new solutions to some of the problems of the planet in Singapore on November 7 — although Kate will not be joining William for the event.
“It was a true honor to meet with the Prince and Princess of Wales,” Cook added on X. “We had a wonderful and wide-ranging discussion about the environment, mental health, and other issues that mean a great deal to all of us.”
Also on the schedule, as Cook summarized, were other key shared interests. Intriguingly, a selection of Apple-branded bags was shown on the coffee table in the pictures of the meeting, indicating Cook’s possible gifts for the royal couple.
The recent meeting is not the first royal tie-up with Apple. Almost two years ago, William participated in a successful Apple Fitness+ Time to Walk encouraging people to take some time out and walk for their mental health over the holidays.
Then, William carried a walk through the royals’ Sandringham Estate in Norfolk — from Sandringham House, past St. Mary Magdalene Church and ending ultimately in Anmer Hall, where the Princess of Wales and the Prince of Wales have a country home. He also memorably spoke regarding how he likes to play AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ to get him up and running on a Monday.
At the moment, William also playfully talked about the routine “massive fight between Prince George and Princess Charlotte as to what song is played in the morning,” and how “Charlotte, specifically, is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything.”
He added, “It’s a really happy moment where the children just enjoy dancing, messing around, and, and singing. I hope you enjoy this one. Have some fun.”
