King Charles III of the United Kingdom recently visited an organic farm in Germany, where he participated in the production of a special cheese dedicated to him. The monarch, a longtime proponent of ecological and sustainable agriculture, was joined by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Brandenburg State Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke.
During his visit to the Käsemanufaktur Am Mellensee farm, King Charles was given the opportunity to help make a cheese that will be named after him. He also sampled various other organic products, including honey and fresh bread. In addition, the King was presented with a crown-shaped cake as a token of hospitality.
The visit to the farm was part of King Charles’ three-day tour of Germany with his wife, Camilla, the Queen Consort. The trip marked the first overseas visit of his reign, which began following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, earlier this year.
King Charles has long been an advocate for environmentally friendly agriculture and has previously spoken about the importance of sustainable farming practices. During his visit to the farm, he praised the efforts of the farmers and expressed his support for their commitment to organic production.
The Käsemanufaktur Am Mellensee farm is known for its high-quality organic cheese and other dairy products. The farm’s owner, Andreas Ihle, said that he was honored to have King Charles visit and participate in the production of a special cheese.
“We are thrilled to have His Majesty visit our farm and show his support for organic farming,” Ihle said. “It is a great honor for us to dedicate this cheese to him and we hope that it will be enjoyed by people all over the world.”
The visit to the organic farm was one of several stops on King Charles’ tour of Germany, which also included meetings with political leaders and visits to cultural sites. The trip was seen as an opportunity for the new King to strengthen ties between the UK and Germany, and to promote his commitment to environmental and sustainable practices.
