In a significant turn of events, royal expert Omid Scobie has weighed in on Prince Harry’s recent legal triumph in a phone hacking case against MGN publisher. London’s High Court ruled on Friday that the Duke of Sussex was a “modest” victim of phone hacking, marking a pivotal moment in his ongoing legal battles.

Omid Scobie took to X, formerly Twitter, to share journalist Brian Cathcart’s tweet emphasizing the importance of the court’s decision in favor of Prince Harry. The tweet underscored the significance of the victory against the Mirror papers, recognizing the Duke’s relentless pursuit of justice.

"The court has found that Mirror group's principal board directors, their legal department, senior executives and editors, such as Piers Morgan, clearly knew about or were involved in these illegal activities.”pic.twitter.com/0FOpXJL74v

Scobie also shared a video featuring Prince Harry’s lawyer reading a statement outside the court, shedding light on the court’s findings. Notably, the court determined that principal board directors, the legal department, senior executives, and editors, including Piers Morgan, were aware of or involved in the illegal activities associated with phone hacking.

The judge’s ruling affirmed Prince Harry’s status as a victim of phone hacking orchestrated by journalists linked to MGN. Consequently, the Duke was awarded £140,600 ($179,600) in damages. This legal victory acknowledges the intrusion into Prince Harry’s privacy and implicates key figures within the Mirror group in unlawful activities.

Omid Scobie’s comments highlight the importance of the court’s decision in holding accountable those responsible for illicit activities. Prince Harry’s pursuit of justice against phone hacking aligns with his commitment to protecting his privacy and sets a precedent for future legal battles involving the British royal family.

Prince Harry’s legal victory against phone hacking has garnered attention and support from royal experts like Omid Scobie. As the legal proceedings unfold, this triumph adds another layer to the Duke’s efforts to safeguard his privacy and underscores the broader implications for media ethics and responsibility in reporting on the royal family.
