Prince Harry is facing a cautionary note regarding his charitable endeavors as scrutiny intensifies over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s year-end donations, which have reportedly decreased from the previous year. Mr. Richard Eden, in a recent newsletter, emphasized the significance of prioritizing support within their immediate circle, stating that “charity begins at home.”
The scrutiny comes as the couple announced year-end donations totaling £8.8 million, a figure lower than the previous year. Mr. Eden drew attention to the compensation received by James Holt, a former employee of both Prince William and Catherine, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan. Holt reportedly received a significant pay packet along with a bonus for his loyalty to the Sussexes.
The newsletter raised questions about the couple’s priorities in Montecito, referencing the Christmas video released by the Sussexes. Mr. Eden pointed out that while the video aimed to highlight the work done by the Archewell Foundation, it was less keen on reporting a notable $11 million plunge in donations to their foundation last year.
The cautionary note suggests a need for the royal couple to focus on strengthening their support base and addressing the reported decline in contributions to their charitable initiatives.
