On Friday, Princess Eugenie posted a once-unseen picture with her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II alongside an admiringly emotional homage on her Instagram page.
On her Instagram page, she posted her picture with Queen Elizabeth with a deep message, “Thinking of you today. Missing you so much but remembering what a life of service, love and dedication to everyone and to your family, who loved you so very much. Forever grateful to you. And always in my heart. ❤️❤️”
While Eugenie was dressed down in jeans and sneakers, Queen Elizabeth’s ensemble indicates where the photo was taken. The late Queen wore a tartan skirt, a staple of her closet during her visits to Scotland.
Every summer, Queen Elizabeth visited her royal residence of Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands, asking family members to join her during her annual break from royal responsibilities.
Just two days before her funeral on September 19, 2022, Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, 35, shared a touching homage to their grandmother in which they referred to her as “Our beloved Grannie.”
“We’ve not been able to put much into words since you left us all. There have been tears and laughter, silences and chatter, hugs and loneliness, and a collective loss for you, our beloved Queen and our beloved Grannie,” they added on Instagram.
Princess Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, also shared a sequence of homages to Queen Elizabeth on social media on the anniversary of the monarch’s death.
