Drake Responds to Kendrick Lamar’s Big Grammy Win: ‘I’m Alive, and That’s All Thanks to You’

Drake has addressed Kendrick Lamar’s big Grammy wins, making it clear that he’s not fazed by the competition. The Canadian rapper shared his thoughts for the first time after Lamar took home multiple Grammy Awards for his track “Not Like Us,” which many perceived as a diss directed at Drake.

On Feb. 4, during the opening night of his Anita Max Win Tour in Australia, Drake delivered an empowering message to his fans. In a clip shared by NFR Podcast on X, Drake took a moment to reflect on his journey in the music industry.

“My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008,” the 38-year-old rapper said. “I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive and that’s all thanks to you. I love you.”

Drake’s message of resilience and gratitude resonated with his fans, especially after Lamar’s Grammy triumphs. While Drake didn’t directly address Lamar’s awards, he seemed unshaken by the attention the competition brought to their relationship. This was further evident in his elaborate entrance at the show, where he wore a hoodie emblazoned with faux bullet holes, walking through a dramatic smoke trail.

Later, Drake shared photos from the event on Instagram, captioning the post with a cryptic line: “They thought Einstein was lying & Shakespeare was barely rhyming & Edison wasn’t lit despite what he was designing. So how can I give a f— what they say about my stars aligning.”

These remarks came just days after Lamar’s historic night at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where he won five awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Not Like Us.”

While Drake kept his response to himself, his father, Dennis Graham, didn’t hold back when he was interviewed on the street shortly after the ceremony. When asked about the Grammy wins, Graham said, “I don’t care nothing about that s—. That ain’t got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don’t do that bulls—.”

Though the public may have anticipated a heated response between the two, both artists seem to be staying focused on their respective careers. Drake’s message and his father’s candid words reflect a sense of calm amidst the tension, proving that they are unbothered by the drama and remain grateful for the success they have.

As both artists continue to break barriers in the music industry, it’s clear that the competition and rumors won’t stop them from creating the music that resonates with their fans.
