Sean “Diddy” Combs celebrated his 56th birthday on November 4 behind bars at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey. The rapper and music mogul is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, Diddy’s release is scheduled for May 8, 2028, meaning he will be 59 years old when he walks free.
Birthday in Prison: Modest Celebrations
Once known for throwing lavish, star-studded birthday parties, Diddy’s 2025 celebration was a stark contrast. People magazine obtained the prison’s daily menu, which included:
- Breakfast: Cereal or breakfast cake
- Lunch: Chicken parmesan or chickpea burgers
- Dinner: Cheese pizza or navy beans, with sides like Italian pasta salad, green beans, and a garden salad

Inmates could also purchase commissary treats, including honey buns ($1.30), Pop-Tarts ($2.85), and cheesecake squares ($1.07).
Transfer to Fort Dix and Legal Developments
Diddy was transferred to Fort Dix on October 30 after his legal team raised concerns over the “inhumane” conditions at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he had been held since his September 2024 arrest.
The transfer also allows Diddy access to drug rehabilitation programs. Notably, just a day before his birthday, a federal judge fast-tracked his appeal, offering a slim chance of early release.
Life Behind Bars
While the Bad Boy Records founder’s current reality is far from the glamorous lifestyle he once enjoyed, fans continue to follow his story closely. His birthday behind bars underscores a dramatic shift in the life of a music industry icon, as he navigates prison life and legal challenges.
