Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark has faced a significant setback as her highly anticipated North American tour has been abruptly canceled due to her hospitalization for an undisclosed ailment. The unexpected turn of events has left fans and concert-goers disappointed, while Shark has expressed her own disappointment over the situation.

The acclaimed artist, known for hits like “Adore” and “I Said Hi,” revealed on Wednesday that she is scheduled to undergo surgery in the coming days as part of her treatment. Taking to her Instagram account, she shared a heartfelt post detailing her recent struggles and the need for medical intervention.

In the post, Shark opened up about the “uncomfortable and painful moments” she has been facing recently. While she assured her fans that she is “all good,” she also conveyed her deep disappointment about having to cancel her tour dates in the United States.

The North American tour was originally set to kick off on September 6 at Washington D.C.’s Union Stage, with a series of performances lined up across various cities. The tour was supposed to culminate with a highly anticipated performance at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on September 26.

Shark’s announcement came in the form of a Notes app post on Instagram, where she shared, “In recent days I’ve had some very uncomfortable painful moments and have just found out that I need surgery ASAP.”

The singer-songwriter maintained the privacy of the specifics of her medical condition, but she emphasized her need for the surgical procedure. With a heavy heart, she expressed her apologies to her fans and followers, explaining her necessity for a month of recovery time.

In her heartfelt message, Shark penned, “Recovery will require about a month, which unfortunately means I have to cancel the North American tour next month. I’m feeling quite saddened by this situation at the moment. I deeply apologize, but my primary focus needs to be on my health for the next month. I truly hope for your understanding, and I’m committed to returning as soon as I’ve fully recovered.”

Fans and the music industry alike have shown their support for Shark, sending well wishes and understanding her need to prioritize her health and recovery. While this cancellation might be a disappointment for those who were eagerly anticipating her performances, the concern for Amy Shark’s well-being remains paramount.
