Global K-pop superstars BTS are preparing for a powerful return, and with it, the members are opening up about the challenges they’ve faced—including dealing with hate and expectations during their time apart.
In a candid conversation with Rolling Stone UK, leader RM didn’t hold back when discussing the negativity the group has encountered.
RM Addresses Hate and Pressure
RM revealed that despite their global success, there are still people who wish for the group’s downfall.
“There are really people who just pray… ‘Please, BTS, just go fall down. Just break apart and collapse,’” he shared.

Reflecting on their hiatus, RM added that the group is fully aware of both critics and loyal fans. “For two, three years, we have been apart… and there are ARMYs waiting for us, the world waiting for us,” he said, suggesting that the group is now ready to prove themselves once again.
Why BTS Chose to Return Together
Beyond fan expectations, RM explained that the decision to reunite as a group comes from a deeper artistic drive.
“If we don’t challenge anymore, then I think there’s no reason that we should keep doing this as a team,” he admitted.
The rapper emphasized the importance of pushing creative boundaries, even when it becomes difficult. For BTS, evolving musically and emotionally remains essential to their identity.
J-Hope Reflects on Group Strength
Fellow member J-Hope also shared his perspective on the group’s reunion, highlighting the unique dynamic that makes BTS special.
“Now that we’re back together, the other members are filling in any gaps… I realized that this is why there were seven of us,” he said, pointing to the synergy that defines their performances.
What to Expect from ‘Arirang’
BTS’ upcoming album Arirang is set to feature 14 tracks, promising a deeply personal and honest musical journey. According to the press release, the album reflects the group’s gratitude toward their fans, known as ARMY, who have supported them throughout their hiatus.
Described as music that is “most true to BTS,” the album serves as a heartfelt message of appreciation and a bold step forward as the group reclaims its place on the global stage.
With anticipation building worldwide, BTS’ comeback is shaping up to be not just a return—but a powerful statement of resilience, growth, and unity.
