Perry, beloved for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home in October of last year, a loss attributed to an accidental overdose. His passing left an indelible mark on fans worldwide, but for his family, it sparked a mission to fulfill his wish to make a difference.
Morrison, speaking about the tragic news that changed their lives, reflected, “We are like millions of families who have had to wake up to the painful call that a loved one has unexpectedly passed away due to overdose.” The veteran journalist acknowledged that while Perry’s fame may make their grief public, they share the same sense of loss as countless others who have faced similar tragedies.
He continued, “Our family isn’t unique. Although Matthew was well-known, we’re one among millions of families who have suffered this kind of loss.” Morrison expressed his gratitude for those who have shown support, saying he feels a kinship with other families going through similar struggles.
